A mid-heavy weight embroidered half-zip crew carrying the Platypus, one of Australia's strangest and most singular creatures. 350 GSM, 80% cotton / 20% recycled polyester anti-pill fleece, cut to a regular fit with a mock neck and smooth front zip — pre-shrunk and built to be worn hard and kept for years. The Platypus sits on the left chest in finely detailed thread, while a small footprint is embroidered on the back — a subtle trace of the riddle behind the design. Part of the Ineffable Wildlife collection.

Ornithorhynchus anatinus

The Platypus is one of nature's true puzzles — an egg-laying mammal with a duck-like bill, webbed feet and a beaver-like tail, so improbable that early naturalists suspected a hoax. It lives a secretive, largely nocturnal life in the freshwater creeks and rivers of eastern Australia, diving with its eyes shut and navigating entirely by electroreceptors in its bill that detect the faint electrical signals of prey. The male even carries venomous spurs on its hind legs. Elusive, ancient and unlike anything else alive, it is the perfect enigma — captured thread for thread into The Enigma.
